On 4 September 2025, in the early morning, four Ende Gelaende activists climbed a gas drilling rig between Reichling and Rott (Bayern) (coded to the former) to protest against gas extraction, unfurling banners with slogans such as 'Hubert, how stubborn can you be?,' 'Exit gas now, here and worldwide!,' and 'Gas is poison,' directed at Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger. Around 20 police officers, supported by special forces, intervened and escorted the activists safely down from about a height of 40 meters.
